Customer App

PWA

Overview of project

Description

As a product designer, I led the creation of a comprehensive courier order program aimed at simplifying and speeding up the process of sending packages. This innovative application acts as a digital bridge between customers and delivery drivers, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery experience. The app connects users with drivers to send packages from a single origin to multiple destinations. With an intuitive interface, customers can easily specify the pickup and drop-off locations, streamlining the order process. this app integrates with the Fleet application, which assigns orders to drivers and assists them in route planning and parcel delivery. This app, is part of a SaaS.

Problem statements of Customer Application

The challenge is to design an application that not only streamlines the order placement process for users but also facilitates efficient mission acceptance and route planning for drivers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.

  • User Interface Simplicity: Creating an interface that allows users to easily choose package types and set origin and destination points without overwhelming them with options.
  • Integration with Fleet App: Ensuring seamless communication between the courier order app and the Fleet app used by drivers to accept and manage deliveries.
  • Real-Time Updates: Designing a system that provides users and drivers with real-time updates on package status and delivery progress
  • Address management: One design challenge for implementing a feature that allows users to save their addresses in the courier order app is ensuring data accuracy and ease of use. Users should be able to enter, edit, and select their saved addresses with minimal effort.

What we did

  • We started by conducting user research to understand the needs and behaviors of our target audience, which includes both frequent and occasional shippers.
  • Based on the research, you defined the core requirements and functionalities needed in the app, such as saving addresses, choosing package types, and selecting origin and destination points.
  • We worked with developers to ensure the app was optimized for performance, focusing on quick load times and smooth interactions.
  • We designed clear and intuitive input fields for address entry, with auto-complete suggestions to reduce errors and speed up the process and we  created a simple interface for users to manage their saved addresses, allowing them to easily add, edit, or delete entries. and also we provided an option for users to set a default address for quicker order placement, while still allowing them to choose alternative addresses when needed

Achievements

  • We successfully designed a user-friendly courier order application that streamlined the package delivery process.
  • We conducted extensive user research that informed the design, ensuring it met the real needs of the customers
  • We implemented real-time updates for order tracking, significantly improving the user experience.
  • We understood the need for designs to be adaptable to different user scenarios and technological constraints.
  • We experienced the benefits of close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the design aligns with technical and business requirements.
